DellToday Dell announced OTA upgrade for Dell Streak to Android v2.2. Dell will launch an over-the-air (OTA) update that includes changes to the OS as well as new applications and widgets for the Dell Streak. This update is focused on three key areas: Enhancing the functionality of the Dell Streak with new features and capabilities, Backup and restore process designed to save the customer's data, and Increasing product stability through bug fixes and general OS improvements.There are different ways of upgrade, depending on whether your device is an unlocked or carrier-locked unit.

Mobile Enterprise the Next Big Growth Area, Says Movius

Exciting new applications, converging technologies and the arrival of 4G/LTE networks will create major growth potential for carriers in the mobile enterprise market. That was the message given yesterday at the opening of the Mobile World Congress by Dominic Gomez, the CEO of unified messaging giants Movius Interactive Corporation. Mr Gomez told the world’s flagship communications event – where up to 50,000 people are expected across four days – that applications such as easy to use audio and videoconferencing and multi-line mobile devices would be just the tip of the iceberg in terms of creating opportunities for mobile operators looking to increase their enterprise revenues.

NokiaIf you've been following the IT industry in the past 15-20 years, you might have noticed that a lot of things have changed. Terminals became desktops, desktops became mobile computers, mobile computers became ultraportables, and - on a side - mobile phones creeped in and took over pretty much everything. The same thing with devices that sit somewhere in the middle between mobile phones and mobile computers - tablets. There were tablets in the past (Toshiba Portege series comes to mind), but they were based on a different paradigm then ones released in the past couple of months.

NokiaA couple of years ago, it was all about desktop computers. Then, the tsunami of mobile computers came along and washed away something that seemed indestructible. "People will always need PC". Desktops lasted for what, 10, 15, 20 years. Notebook computers-mania lasted much shorter - for 5-7 years. And right now, everything is turning on its head yet again. But for the first time, it's not the computers turning IT around - it's mobile devices.
