Acer Aspire 1925PTZTablets are becoming increasingly popular so we decided to give this Acer model a try. It isn't a tablet in the iPad way, but in the more old-tablet way – with a screen that can be turned around and used as a tablet. At 11.2“, we consider this to be the optimum-sized laptop and although it might be a bit heavy for some people (1.6kg), it's got quite a few nice features that we'd like to talk about. So, let's waste no more time and review this tablet.

4 WORK
You'll need a bag to carry this one and its adapter around, but it's a notebook in its core, so it's kind of expected. Keyboard is really good and edge-to-edge, which means larger keys and more comfortable typing. If you want, you can use the built-in trackpad, and it's multi-touch, as well.  Overall build quality is rather good, and screen is comfortable even after hours of usage.  No optical device, though so – external is the way to go.

@CONNECTIVITY
Three USB connectors, HDMI and VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, audio connectors, built-in Bluetooth and Wireless – they're all there. We feel that this is more then adequate number of connectivity options for a laptop of this size. Because of the need to use external optical device, you'll lose one USB ports which might come in the way at times. Mostly, we don't see it as a problem. Also, model we tested had b/g/n-spec (no 802.11a). Again, nowadays not a problem anymore. We'd like to see mobile connectivity port built-in, as well.

@BATTERY
Battery life seems pretty good, as well. The CPU inside is U4100 ticking at 1.3GHz, which is the ULV CPU by Intel. There's no additional graphics chip, and the battery is 5,600mAH/63Wh model. With the average battery life of almost eight hours (7 hours 51 minutes), we feel that this tablet gives you more then enough „energy-independence“. You could almost do the whole day of work without the need to carry its adapter around. Unless you work silly hours, of course...

@CONCLUSION
The only thing that we can't really understand about this laptop is its price-performance-market segment ratio. There are definitely better tablets out there, with more battery power and more affordable price. But as a road warrior for mix'n'match performance as a tablet and a laptop, 1825PTZ seems like a good bet. We'd like to see a model with 4GB memory and SSD, though, as this one only had 2GB of memory. Its multi-touch and touch-display functionality is quite cool, though. Overall, a solid tablet for the entry user.
